Can you get rid of gophers? Absolutely!

Although similar in behavior to moles, gophers present a more serious problem. Damage is most severe in the spring and fall when gophers are active near the ground surface.  Because they are vegetarian, they are capable of doing more destruction to roots, seeds, bulbs and other plant parts in landscape settings.  In addition, they eat approximately 60% of their body weight per day. Gophers also favor tree bark, particularly that of stone fruits and can girdle trees.  They can cause great damage to gardens and expensive landscaping.

Being professionally licensed, Minnesota Wild Animal Management is uniquely positioned to provide an effective treatment for these pests.  Damage caused by these pests includes:

  • Economic losses in lawn and garden space, such as valued roses
  • Destruction of young trees and crops
  • Erosion that may undermine, offset or crack structures such as walkways and in-ground pools
  • Our program involves a remediation program and warranty for the existing gopher infestation, followed by a maintenance program to address the potential for reinfestation from neighboring yards, or fields.

Gophers can cause hundreds, even thousands of dollars in property damage. Gophers burrowing under improvements can create serious problems.  All this damage can be extremely frustrating and expensive!  If the problem is handled immediately and efficiently though, you can save yourself time and money.  At Minnesota Wild Animal Management, we are experienced and trained with the removal of these rodents.
